Our Journey
Paul Hewitt established Paul Hewitt Design on March 9th 1999 – literally from his back bedroom home office at his parent’s house – number 14 Petit Close. This kept overheads down and was a quiet environment to get creative.
He was fortunate to receive a low interest loan from The Prince’s Trust, which enabled him to buy his first Apple Macs, printers and studio equipment. One year on and he was invited to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen and Prince Charles as a representative success story for the Trust.
Within a year and the magical turn of the Millennium, Paul was on the move. Paul Hewitt Design Ltd now opened its doors in Harrison House, Llay securing new work with Peugeot Events, which set the company on the road to success. Delivering exhibition graphics to direct mail to corporate brochures and merchandise, Paul began working for Bentley, Nissan and Kia Motors as well, with client Pro-Ex.
Through the OOs, the company had its ups and downs, broadening its client base and growing the skills and capabilities of the growing team. The design world was evolving, less print more digital, from Quark to Adobe In-Design. Paul kept investing in the latest skills and equipment.
Paul has always had a firm belief in keeping up to date with the latest design software and techniques, investing ahead of the market and ensuring the company stayed in front of the competition.
In 2014, now branded Design by PH, the company upscaled and moved to 14 Wilkinson Business Park (from 14 to 14 – an important number in our journey!). This was the start of the major development of the company working with sister company Think B2B supporting clients ranging across the UK and international print, packaging, life science, distribution, technology and manufacturing industries.
With graphic designers, coders and illustrators and from local business clients to international marketing projects, Design by PH has gone from strength to strength.
